Our hosts have a very useful Message Board system, it works for them, and for over 99.6% of its users.

If it’s not broken, then don’t fix it,

I agree that the cost would be significant but it would also be great to be able to edit posts I hate the typos that happen when I'm tired or just stupid also the ability to remove mistaken multi postings would be good. The trouble is that we all know that the process of upgrading is only ever a brief respite and no sooner have you upgraded then you are once again obsolete. The trouble is computers that allow you to do in seconds things you never needed to do before.

It was not too many years ago that this site was upgraded at great expense from what I remember with Sincordia, it was quite an operation. It has its flaws but it is what it is

Would be great to edit and even delete your own posts.

I do use other bulletin boards which use the more usual coding, so I would be ok with a switch, and it would mean that when you did paragraphs, they would still be there when you posted it.

But there again, wanting to look posh and learning HTML code for here, did mean that i went on to write my own websites... YAY!I think they should change the backgrounds to buff and cream alternate instead of two tone grey, now THAT would be good!

I`m happy with the way it is. It just means we have to be careful with our spelling before pressing Post Reply, we have to do this when using a typewriter or hand-writing a letter. It`s easy to post a picture on here using Photobucket. So as long as a post is legible, I can`t see any reason to change. As our school teachers would have said, "PAY ATTENTION AND LEARN." PS. I do have a problem with the ad on the right of screen blocking the text unless I reduce the screen size to about 90%.

Mmmm Leon, I can't remember the last time I hand wrote a letter and as for typewriters I remember my Mum using an Imperial on the dining room table and teaching my little brother (now 46) very bad language.

Hi Leon - thanks for posting your views on this.

You mention that it is "easy" to use, but even something as simple as a paragraph break requires messing about typing in >brbr< (arrows wrong way round). On the US board you just press the Return key, like everywhere else.

My suspicion is that once people have tried using the US version they'd actually find it much easier than this one.

However, this is ONLY my view, of course - I'm grateful that everyone is chipping in with theirs.

Hi Thack: I had a problem with this new Lenovo computer at first, eg, emails had " instead of @. It was because the text was English UK, I changed it to English US. It is down in the right-hand corner. My Mitsubishi computer was 12-years-old and couldn`t be upgraded, also was hacked with a full-screen black flag with Arabic writing from Libya, after that it was never the same and would not open the internet. It will be out on the footpath on household whitegoods rubbish collection day. SIGH!

Our host completely restructured this web site at great expense not far in the past, at the time if memory serves me correctly questions were asked regarding the way that the forum operated, apparently the present system was deliberately chosen to keep memory usage to a minimum.

Come on Guys this forum is free to use, very useful for people to gain help (if they sift through the replies) and often quite entertaining, be gratefull for what we have.
