Oh right, thanks Pete F

I had forgotten that MOT was not continuous, and that would explain it.

I was just wondering as next year, I will be looking for a pre 1960 RE Super meteor or similar twin cylinder bike. sounds fine, and just wondered why it seemed so complicated!

Just trying to pluck up the courage to ask Norm what he thinks of the Redditch twins.

Scaly probably not a good idea to ask me just at the moment, this Meteor is doing my head at the moment, I just spent $440 getting the fork tubes rechromed and it seems like they have distorted the ends so I can't get the dampener rods to screw back in. Apart from that go for it, and as you said look for a Super Meteor or any of the post 56 ones. Only reason I don't fancy the early twins is because of the difficulty of getting the motors in and out because of the downtube sitting on top of the gearbox and the lack of an alternator and also the non Q/D rear wheel is a pain

And Scaly, I can't get my head around all this MOT rubbish, out here it is registered or it isn't. Then we have our Club reg/permit for vehicles 25 years and older which is a fraction of what it would cost on full registration. It is all nice and simple
