Frank could have a point, I can't remember but I think the only real earth point is the back of the battery box, check that the wires are connected and solid, pull on then they may look ok but aren't.Next I would pull the tank and unplug the coil and with the ignition on and kill switch on test the brown wire in the loom, this should have 12 volts in it.Switch the kill switch on and off to make sure that is working, power to the coil should switch on and off. If this works reconnect the wires and pull the spark plug, fit the HT lead to it, plug against the head and with the ignition on kick it over, if no spark you have a problem with either the coil,TCI unit or the pulse coil.Haven't heard of a pulse coil failing and it is not a part you can buy you have to buy it complete with the stator which isn't cheap. Keep testing and get back to us

I'm not sure this has been mentioned yet, but if it's still using the original metal shrouded plug cap I would replace it with the NGK replacement or similar from our hosts or even your local bike shop. In the unlikely event that it is the pulse coil, Electrex World might have a suitable replacement.

Presto you can't buy the pulse coil as a part, it is combined with the stator and the only reason for this is because the wires for the pulse coil are combined with the stator wires coming out of the primary case. Another fine piece of engineering mastery

Right I've pull the tank off and disconnected the connector block on the coil brown and white/red cable. With ignition on and kill switch on I get no reading between the brown cables. If I connect the volt meter to the brown cable from battery and earth it to the frame I get 14.63 volts with kill switch on and 0.03 volts with the kill switch off.

Ok so that proves you have power to the coil now you have to test the coil brown wire to red/white wire needs to be 4/5 ohms. brown to ht lead 13/17000 ohms brown to red should read 0

Should have added, reconnect the coil and see if you have a spark now, disturbing the connector could be enough sometimes, if nothing I'm leaning toward TCI failure

Ok sounds like your coil is dead, haven't heard of many failing but eventually it is going to start happening. Problem is you can't just stick another coil from something else to test it,too difficult to mount and connect the wires, but I believe that the UCE one is the same

Looks like I'll be ordering a coil in the morning, fingers crossed that will sort it.
