I hope you are wrong there norm, my bullet is a daily workhorse and far from being a toy. 25k and no major problems so far but I did my research and that is why I went for the 350.

Surely, regular oil changes + maintenance and avoid thrashing it these bikes will last.

Quite right Bogie, they will, especially the 350.
The engine was originally designed at 350 so the 500 version puts too much strain on what is virtually the same bottom end IMHO

The basics of the engine date back to the 1930's it has been a sv as well as an ohv format so it has had a good grounding.

Hi Alan R, if Calv does not get back to you, or does not purchase your 350, I would be interested in it. My 500 has given up the struggle and repairs are just too expensive, so I'm in the market for a 350.
