The only time it's worth dealing with a Home Market machine, is when it's a model (Lightning or Thunderbird) that's not generally available in the UK.

I saw a virtually identical Bullet (and photographed in the same location,) claiming to be a 1965 500 fitted with new Greaves/Lombardini diesel engine for sale on Ebay. (He also sells Lambrettas by the way.) I thought I'd have a look at the Ebay feedback for the seller (who is the same as the one Essex Lad quoted,) and the results are very interesting. Have a look at the scores for tradesparesauto and see what you think. Keep going back through the feedback, on page 3 for instance there are some very interesting comments from a disgruntled UK buyer. There are some cracking excuses for non-delivery from Tradespares, the one about the transport refusing to go through Nagaland radiation is a comedy gem! It took me 30 seconds to discover that I'd run a mile from this seller, why don't these One Post Wonders do their research???? REgards, Mark

When it comes to research, some people don't have the patience. Others don't know how to use a Search Engine properly. They just ask somebody else. When they get the answer they don't want. They ask somebody else, etc, etc. It took me months of endless trawling the Interweb before I found my Lightning (OK, it wasn't the 535 I wanted, but an unregistered 500 was close enough). Far too many people think that Ebay is the 'end all and be all' of buying a bike. It isn't.

Good spot Bryan, could you give some examples of the places and handles he uses? He may be a wind up merchant but sadly we have seen several (apparently) real victims here. My posts, especially the last one, were intended as a rough guide for anyone genuinely trying to research this buying route and you can see from the Ebay feedback that quite a few have been caught. Doesn't really matter what the OP was up to, it is important to keep this subject fresh in peoples mind because we all know about these dodgy Indian deals that you wouldn't go near under any circumstances, but there is always a steady stream of people buying a Bullet for the first time, and may fall into the trap of thinking that buying one of these crap heaps might be a good idea, and as has been pointed out the OPOPW could quite likely be a seller from India fishing for another sucker

Barry, I thought that's what I said! I have suspected there are some trolls out there (Bryan seems to think so,) but I reckon we have to treat these questions as real, some of them certainly are! REgards, Mark
