Has anyone else fitted part number 91486/19 to their EFI?I struggled all yesterday afternoon to remove the massive original mudguard from my bike and to re-fit one of these in its place.I managed to just get the original one off without taking the front wheel out but i then had to remove it anyway to get the new cap headed mounting screws in to the fork mounts.I was very pleased with the new look but when i tried to rotate the front wheel afterwards it wouldn't turn as it was fouling on the tyre. The only possible explanation that i can think of is that it's an 18 inch one supplied in error or i have fitted it the wrong way round although there doesn't seem to be any difference between the front and back.

Martin they put that massive guard on for a reason it worked and kept the water out of your boots

Exile-I can try but can someone tell me in very simple terms how to post?
Norm-I don't tend to ride in the wet-unless I get caught so it wouldn't normally be a problem but I take your point.I was just trying to update my bike in a small way.

Martin, there have been lots of posts on how to upload pictures. Put "upload pictures" into the search box on top right.

This thread reminds me of fitting a "universal" front mudguard to the CX500, when I fitted the sidecar and used an Avon SM rear tyre on the front wheel because of the flat profile.
What was not stated about the "universal" mudguard was, drill your own holes to suit the tyre.

That of course occurred to me but I thought it was worth a post here first to see whether anyone else has encountered a similar problem.

Guys-I have had another go at removing the guard and upon turning it round it fits even worse! As Norm sensibly suggests I have decided to keep my chrome original which bolts back straight on-although it's a struggle without part dismantling one side of the brace. I have emailed our hosts to see whether they will accept this item as a return.
