Once you get them right the plugs should last almost forever as the lack of lead means they don't lead up any more. I found with my 860 that with the throttle pumps turned off and the jets all sized precisely that one set of plugs is all I need. I do use 91 rather than 95 octane fuel although I use 95 in the Bullet as the lack of squish band in the head means it is prone to pinking (or pinging as you Aussi's say) where the Ducati has more modern combustion chambers. One strange thing I found with the plugs that failed is that they seemed to run lean on one side and rich on the other. Very strange however I've had no problem with either bikes in that way since I finally got the right.
