I heard that the Mitas factory is owned by Michelin these days and that they are using modern soft compounds. However I bought Metzlers for the Ducati and will most likely use the Dunlop K81s on the Bullet when I finally run out of the Pirelli MT80s that I bought a job lot of. However, I have a friend who is a mad keen CZ owner and he seems very happy with the recent set of Mitas boots he purchased.

Simon I have a 51 CZ, does that make me mad,I guess so, I put a K81 on the rear of my Inter yesterday, might work ok but everybody loved the look of the big chunky 400x18 Chen shin that has been on it since I bought it, bit disapointed with the look of the back end now, looks a bit woosy

No Norm if you only have the one then you are fine. My pal now has 3 possibly 4 and a room full of parts. He's pretty serious about the mark but sadly (for me anyway) mostly in the off road machines. He does have a 350 twin road bike. I hear that they made a cammy 500 which would definitely be high on my list of desirable machinery but the strokers make too much smell and need filling up too often for my liking.

Simon I only have the one CZ but for a bike built just after the war it is surprisingly well made

Hi Norm: Don`t mention the WAR, Some CZ factories used to make weapons then. So they are proficient in making fine machinery.

I've worn one Mitas H01 at the front and two H02 back tires on my Electra (2005) This was 3-4 years ago. They might have changed compounds since. The first back tire was 4" wide which fitted very well with several millimeters to spare in the fork.
I am no tire tester but I fell two times while riding with these in the rain. Which makes 67% of cases during my total riding career starting in 1976. (I don't count ones in the woods or on the ice of the lake and so.) On dry no problems. I got about 8,000 km/s per back tire. Make your own conclusions.

Hi. I have Mitas front and rear on my Connie and it feels utterly stable. Agree about the 'thin' look though: when fitted they actually measure narrower than the size suggests - I originally fitted 3.5" to rear, but almost immediately swapped it to front and fitted a 4" to the rear instead - looks much better and, as I said, very solid.
