Hi guys i was wondering if anyone can shed some light on the fact that i have a 49 model g , and my voltage regulator says its a mcr1 but all the replacements i can find is mcr2 , i guess my question is , will this regulator work on my system , i dont want to convert to 12 v , i like the 6 v system and i want to keep it as stock as possible.
Thanks for your time .and have a great day

Hi SAboy

You are a bit south of us aren't you?

Pity cos I found this for the UK, and it seems promising, although I have no experience of their work.

I think it's fine to fit the MCR2, it is an improved unit with a different terminal layout but that won't make any difference to the way it works. I have found that 6v systems can be quite good, even for limited night time use but everything must be in really good condition for it to work well. I can endorse the CDVRC site, (check out the top quality LED stuff,) Pete that runs it is a friend of mine and a real enthusiast. Most of his work is on cars but he is a motorcyclist too with a 1934 BSA 600 Sloper among other things. REgards, Mark

Mark M,

I guess the "electronic reg conversion fitted to my 1955 Enfield Bullet" is still running well?
