It was cold, wet and foggy this morning.

My Bullet and I got soaked on the journey to the Hollyville (Post now up).

Tornado started second kick and performed faultlessly for the entire trip on his electronic ignition.

YAY!

Sarcasm. Hello? Just as long as everyone has a properly lubed and adjusted chain, valves adjusted regularly, oil changed on time, swingarm and headstock bearings serviced on schedule, brakes, tire pressure checked, clutch operates as it should, there's no duct tape, zip-ties, bungee cords or silicone holding things together then I guess its OK to install an electronic ignition. There I go gain. LOL

Having recently posted on another forum (unwisely) that I had fitted EI to a Honda 550/4 and that it had performed faultlessly for some 20 years it waited until a prospective buyer was in sight before failing completely! Good thing I'd kept the original set-up. Just a thought . Happy New Year, all.

Samj, but just think about all the hours you saved in the 20 years of the EI being fitted by not having to check, adjust, replace the points. Up to 3 pages already and no conclusive decision reached

Got to thinking about points maintenance, in particular how the moving parts are lubricated if indeed they are or need to be. Just curious :)
