Its all still there and run by the Trust. The regional command centre in the event of nuclear war is now owned by an IT storage company. The two watchtowers are there, as is the firing range and the prison. Not going to purchase the hut - too much to buy then a huge outlay to restore and make useable even as a weekend hut. You cant stay there which is part of the problem. Well worth a visit though.

That site asked about keeping it original, re-enactments and all that, and the nazi's were forced to stay there, our regiment stayed there as did countless others, so you tell them that as a knowledgeable historian (waffle, waffle) you will be prepared to use the no rent, fix it up option to produce an authentic hut complete with living quarters, and that to make the experience authentic, you and others will of course be staying there! run your own WWII prisoner of war camp! (Captive audience too.) YAY!

Or they playing the insurance card?

There should always be people there, that's why the guardhouse at the gate, stop the 'scroats' from breaking in and tagging/burning everything.

Technically, Cultybraggan is a shit hole, but I do have fond memories of it for some reason.
