Yes, it makes a difference to me Pete,

I don't like the new logo, don't want it on a tank, so won't be buying a new bullet in the foreseeable future.

Triumph seem to be doing very well now. They still got their original logo. Nuff said!

The Triumph one has changed somewhat; the "leg" of the R used to go right round the end and curve into the H. Then it went up to but not touching the H. Now it goes straight into the H forming the middle of it. Hard to describe but google it.... I wonder if that is the type of thing RE were trying to do? It hasn't worked, though. Would look ok on a cheap candy bar as someone said??? And the justification really has come off another planet or out of a daft marketing office anyway.

Got to take issue with you there Scaly, it might at first glance appear so - and this is probably quite intentional - but the Triumph logo is not the same as the old one. Take a careful look and you'll see the foot of the "R" enters the "H" at the front on the newer logo but on the old one the "R" curls round underneath the "H" to enter from behind.

fair do's guys, you're better experts than me.

but, there is still the point that the triumph one fooled me into thinking it was the same.

The RE one wouldn't be able to do that, even if it had been painted backward on a wall that the Royal Engineers had subsequently blown up!

It looks OK to me. Why would you not but a bike you want/like simply because of the logo? After all it appears that most Enfields are modified heavily so what does it matter what the logo looks like. As for the Triumph logo, I believe that the change was forced upon them by a well known bra, yes the ones that the ladies wear, manufacturer as it was too close to their registered design and being American with overly large pockets in a highly litigious nation it is said that our own Hinckley guys simply modified the logo. Nobody seems to have taken much notice or refused to buy a Triumph as a result.
