Is more deadly than any desert Boulder----------------But our Lad is full of life .. And will sooth this Sheila, known as his Wife !!------------------------ And so Norm it's back into the saddle..And please don't hit me with that paddle------------------------Because whilst in an Alcoholic hex.. I went and bought ( have you guessed it yet ??)....an ELECTRA X !!!!!....C'MON SCALY, I CAN'T KEEP THIS UP MUCH LONGER !!!

Thanks everybody my Inter is happy back in the shed, I could see by the way it was looking at me that it was sad to have somebody else poking and prodding it. Alan there is still an Electra X in my shed, (not mine) so any time I feel like kicking an Electra I just walk up and kick it, sometimes in the primary case, sometimes the wheels, but rarely on the kickstarter

Hello Norm, Like others I think you should remain linked to this forum. Sorry to report that my 2006 Electra has remained totally reliable over the years. Perhaps out all of these models they produced they managed to get mine right. Send all knackered Electra's to me as others who have made this request do not own one.

NORM

He used to have some bullet bikes,

plus one Electra X

The bullets would not play along,

Electra was a vex,

But he helped many of us here,

so we could fix our bikes,

don’t say electra, he will rant,

but otherwise alright.

That one ‘Hellectra’, that got sold,

was glad to see the back!

then the bullets, they went too,

were never coming back.

last of the marque our dear friend owned,

was called the ‘interceptor’

but shed filled up with Honda’s now,

he thought that he would sell her,

Some happy guy got in his Ute,

and drove for half a day,

sitting on the Sheila seat,

ten thousand AUS to pay.

The guy arrived and rang the bell,

“One interceptor please!”

but Norm was out, wife ‘in the dark’

She wasn’t very pleased!

The poor bloke got a verbal bash,

that made him think "Oh strewth"

you should have seen him run like hell,

as Norm's wife hit the roof!

Now what had happened to our Norm,

to cause him to go out?

He’d put the inter up for sale,

but had he had some doubt?

After all the trials and problems,

His Enfield bikes did bring,

I have a small suspicion,

that he may have learnt one thing,

They say you love or hate these bikes,

and yes, they do go wrong,

and norm said that he hated them,

but maybe he was wrong?

That interceptor looked at him,

in shock and disbelief,

in desperation, one last chance,

“I’m yours, don’t sell me please!”

He could not part with such a bike,

it went back in the shed.

A touching moment, man and bike,

I won’t say what was said.

So now our Norm’s back here with us,

and we’re all really glad.

Advice? “These bullet bikes are shit,

Electra X are CRAP!”

We do not 'love' or 'hate' our bikes,

it's both at the same time,

you hate whilst loving or love with hate,

that's how it works with mine!

Good on you Norm! we were worried there for a moment mate!

Scaly that is brilliant, don't know how you do it.... Dennis we were having discussions earlier tonight about the Electra X in my shed and the owner said he was afraid to ride it and have the big end fail because he would probably tip 10 gallons of diesel on it and burn it, I though that was a terrible waste when one gallon would be enough

Hope he wheels it out of your shed first, though... Do Australian insurance assessors read this forum? A.

Initially alarmed that our most reliable, helpful and humourous
contributor should leave the fray, and join the others hoping
to benifit from your hard won expirence further. Glad now to
learn the Interceptor was saved from the cliff's edge of eternal
sellers's remorse 'cause your novel plunger frame CZ 250 ain't
going to do it, Norm..remember your fleeting romance with the
Flea? Mark's quote "tis better to be broke with a 'bike" etc is
spot on. Most of us never forget a new owner riding away on our
hastily sold classic whilst we nearly flung the notes away in a
Judas's despair at having done the Wrong Thing. Meanwhile, in awe
of Scaly's literay prowess relished once again. Norm, rest awhile
before continuing your Enfield odessey and Electra dragon, your're
the very veteran equipped to carry on whilst your Whitworth spanners
are still shiny!

Confusing-us say

It better to be broke with a bike,
than to be with a bike that's broke.

LOL!
