Sidecars are pretty tough on the bikes that pull them from what I've seen. I have a mate with a couple of Panthers and the second one he got was a 1950 100 had pulled a chair for sometime and the back end was flogged out. He had to completely remake the back wheel as the hub was toast. Both his Panthers a 1935 and the 1950 are solo bikes now and have the look of machines that could comfortably circumnavigate the planet with no problems.

As pomps says. You need at least 650cc and a BSA A10 won`t even notice that it`s dragging a sidecar along.

Hi all,
I have a 1973 BMW R75/5 hopefully lined up which i'll have a go at fitting it to, I have the sidecar (came with a shed clearance) but not the bike for it to go on. Think the Mr's might appreciate a bit more comfort than pillion ! ( Plus the vrf800's bit too quick for sidecar use !!)

Pete I have a VFR750 and apart from it being a bit fast it would be extremely difficult to mount a sidecar to because of the frame design and then you would have to hack into the fairings so not a good idea

Papa it can be done and that one is very well done and was discussed on the VFR forum 12/18 months ago from memory
