I'm thinking of putting a single seat on my 2007 350 Classic. However, I'm wondering if a combination of rear suspension and a sprung seat such as 200081 will be altogether too bouncy, though it would look the most 1950-ish. Failing that, I'm attracted to 91475 leather trials type, though the scrambles seat 91401 does look the prettiest, but is rather expensive (though cheaper that the s/s exhaust system I've just fitted!). Any ideas/comments?

I don't find it too bouncy at all.

The sprung seat does look the dogs dangly bits but I found it bloody uncomfortable after just a few miles and I soon took it off again. The single seat fitted to the efi bullets is far more comfy but I don't know if it fits iron barrel bullets.

Yes, I've just fitted one. Not too bouncy, but never mind the dog's, my dangly bits suffer and I hope the seat will wear in a bit. However, it looks good and I have relocated the battery (gel type) underneath it.No journeys are longer than a few miles here on Guernsey anyway.
Out of interest, I have fitted our hosts small carrier and the pillion saddle that fits to it. Mixed views here; as supplied, it had excessively long springs and my son complained of looking like Zebedee! however, our hosts graciously supplied shorter springs and it looks much better. However,it isn't the Quickly Detachable item I had hoped for and fitting and removing it is a bit of a fiddle. Our hosts say they may be taking another look at the method of fitting, which would be welcome.

I think the single sprung seat is very comfortable. The bike is probably more comfortable, for a given time in the saddle, than my Pan European was. Mind you, you don't get quite as many miles for your hours in the saddle.

I fitted the same seat from our hosts 2 weeks ago. I found it comfortable enough on a weekend run and suspect over time it will take on the character of an old comfy chair. My main concern is I sit about 2 inches higher than the stock dual seat and I feel a little more on the bike than in the bike. If I don't get used to that I will try a seat off the efi models in a few months. Also keep in mind there is a fuse under the seat which if it were to blow would be a pain at the roadside to change (might relocate that one day) on the solo seat. Still nice to have the rack close behind and it looks great so glad I made the swap.

Hi Exile,

You parked Thumper at the end of the shortened Amager Helgoland road then?

still remember when it used to go to the old swimming deck! Glad to see there is a new one now!

Well spotted Scaly.. the new beach park is beginning to develop now. During the summer, on wednesday evenings, all the vintage bikes and cars in the area get together in a nearby car park.. Bring your own beer and butties..

Eddie, they do take some getting used to. I very nearly took mine off again after the first ride but persevered and now find it very comfy.
