It's a bit pointless not grinding the valves if you have the head off so you will need a valve compressor. A torque wrench is pretty handy replacing the head as well.

Might be an idea to invest in a set of the thick headbolt washers from off here while the had is off, as the originals have a habit of squishing and galling in the nut bores, making the head difficult to remove - and there aren't many places you can safely tap a bullet head without fins flying off...

Yes, thicker and harder I think. Anyway they don't deform and jam the head.I got a set for mine after it took ages to part the head because the washers had all splayed out sideways.

4895 RPM is ok for riding, but NOT for revving with no load on the engine as this can cause damage. Blipping the throttle constantly whilst the bike is stationary will always strain internal parts as they are flying around in there with no load on them. But you might be lucky, any damage might not manifest itself for years, if at all.
