I have the back wheel not being lifted clear by the centre stand problem after I fitted short Hagon rear shock to my Electra X when I lowered the bike. It does have 19" wheels with knobbly tyres though, also the side stand leaves the bike nearly up-right now.

My 2008 classic arrived with Mk 1 speedmaster tyres and was four point parked - a set of Avon Roadriders dropped the height by about 3/4 of 1 centimetre, enuff to provide for a more secure centre stand parking.

I regally go round my 10 month old C5 with the oil can and tin of grease and give the centre stand some oil, so this morning decided to check the operation of the stand and sure enough the pin was moving with the stand even though I ride in dry conditions, I pulled the pin out no corrosion but it was dry, oil applied to the outside does not make its way inside, so it has had a good grease up, the pin was still moving a small amount but I found I could stop this with a cable tie through the eye of the split pin and round the frame as shown in the guide, well worth checking and if you ride in wet weather the grease nipple is a good idea
