As far as I can make out, I was heading downhill towards my usual left turn into work, and the lights changed 4 or 5 cars in front of me. I braked, not too sharply at all, the back end went left sliding away from me, the front end slid onto its right hand side (I think I may have grabbed the brake after sliding stupidly??) and I high sided onto the other side of the road. All quite low speed, 20-25 mph maybe? I landed on my right hand side, which is a wee bit sore. Nothing was coming thankfully (ironically due to the lights!). My gear took the brunt, but I bought good stuff hence why I can type about it now! I went back and looked at the road when I got my senses back a few minutes later, there was a fair bit of fuel on the road surface. Perhaps me... or perhaps what I slipped on. BTW it was wet roads too.
Bike seems reasonable... back brake needed resetting as the pedal took a thumping. The right footpeg and saddle bags took a beating too. Footpeg is now bent approximately back into shape. Clutch lever mechanism needed a wee baching. Surprisingly the engine bars did not bend so did their job! Engine doesn't seem compromised. Headlight was in bits on the road, but the lens remarkable did not crack so some brute force and it fitted back into place. The only thing I cannot seem to understand is the speedo dial... it is now resting on the max reading (100mph?) Any ideas why this might be and whether I can fix it?
