... in broad daylight from a public place! Saddle bags rummaged through (they were empty anyway). Thankfully the muppet criminal couldn't start it, and then noticed the disc lock. Who would have thought I would be praising my hard-to-start bike :) cctv check tomorrow, hopefully get an eye on the bugger!

good job you got a disc brake lock, little bastard wants a piranha bath! (them fish that bite)

I got drum brakes, so have a chain instead, er any better suggestion for a military iron bullet? Long chain takes up space and weighs!

He would have just broken down at the end of the street anyway!!! EFI Electra, mostly rusty. There were some more valuable looking stones on the ground next to my bike... the would-be thief should have looked there instead!

A few years ago, living in Hackney, I got careless about locking my '89 350 thinking the local scooter thieves wouldn't know what to do with a proper bike. A week or so later i saw it parked in a local street near some flats. i knew it hadn't gone far because i heard it driving about. It had a flat battery, so I took the battery home and charged it. As I was refitting it, a voice rang out from the flats; "f****** b******", but not said nastily; more like a local way of saying, "aww, did you have to spoil our fun.
