Scaly's guide No.1 - Bullet lamp identification.
Most web sites now use a standard coding for lamps (bulbs)

For a Bullet these are (usually):-

BA7s - Speedo Illumination and Ammeter lamps

BA9s - The tell-tale lamps in the speedo (indicator, high beam, neutral). Also the 'Tiger's Eye' pilot lamps.

BA15s - Indicator or trafficator bulbs. These need to be bi-directional if LED.

1157 - The stop/tail lamp.

The headlamp bulb will depend on the unit fitted.

That's totally brilliant - thanks, Scalyback. Just one word of warning to people considering changing to LED bulbs: check the legalities before using them. Not all LED replacement bulbs are legal for use in motor vehicles, because not all of them have the necessary spread on the beam. The fact that it fits and lights up does not mean it is legal for road use.

Bullet indicators!

terrible mess of design, all because they only used the one indicator tell tale and not two!

the power goes through the tell tale one direction for left, the other direction for right.

when you signal left, the power goes through the tell tale, and then earths through the right lamps. you won't see the right ones light as the current is too small, but if you have one way polarity led bulbs, then the tell tale won't work. all reversed for right signal.

Who wants to explain this rather better than I did guys?

Only real option, use two directional LED tell tale BA7s (Superbright LED's one works,) install led BA15s in the rear left and right, but keep traditional bulbs in the front indicators. You will need an electronic flasher unit about a fiver or under $10 US.

This works with my 1994 bullet.
