If you like that see through look, did you know that on iron barrel Bullets, if you have a single seat fitted, you can easily fit a gel battery under the seat? I've just done it. It still needs a bit of tidying up on the nearside. When I've done it i will post a pic or two. Might not work with E/S.

If you fit a Lucas 2MC capacitor you don't need a battery. (Although your lights don't work if you stall.)

The original Lucas 2MC capacitors are well past their service life. I would recommend using a new capacitor

The equivalent is a 4500-microfarad electrolytic capacitor rated at 30V from an electronics store.

there is an informative article HERE about them which gives the problems and things to test and watch for on the originals.

I'm not saying throw your 2MC out if you have one, but do test it from time to time.

I have a Powerbox, which incorporates a capacitor. But I have never found it much use with a flat or no battery. A L-Ion battery would be neater still and would fit in a toolbox, but still a bit pricey - my gel battery doesn't quite fit in the toolbox.
Snidal's manual has a section on fitting capacitors.

I have a powerbox, I can confirm that my bike will start and run happily without a battery. I do have electronic ignition though, I fitted a couple of 6v gels just to ensure everything stays happy.
