Following Norm's advice about fitting a clear 1/2" tube to the main breather and ending it with a duck bill, I also added a 'discrete' catch tank for the resulting fluids. What do you think?
Given that you're trying to get a WWII look on your outfit I don't think the clear plastic tubing looks right, try black braided nitrile rubber, you can put in a discrete clear plastic section for mayonnaise spotting.

Hi Graham, problem I see is that it still can't breathe the air needs an exit point from the can, at least any carry over oil mist should be caught in the can. At one stage I had a small plastic drink bottle tied to the end of the hose so that I could see exactly how much oil was being carried over. At first the little bottle would end up half full after a few hundred ks but eventually it settled down to virtually nothing so I just took the bottle off.
