Me too Leon, 55,000 out of the front and about 25,000 out of the rears.I get similar miles out of my old CB750 Honda as well. I have 8,000 miles on the rear of my Inter but it is starting to get down a bit in the middle, front looks like new.

More good views noted. I'll try an AM26 next. I do a fair bit of mileage on M-Ways and Duals, always at Truckspeed minimum, 60 average, which might suit the Avon better than the K70. I do occasional forays around the lanes and quieter roads now and again. I avoid congested centres as much as possible with the fragility of the clutch, I'm not into "dawdling", "pottering" or hanging about, more just about the grin factor? But I'm recently intrigued at how some Bullet riders manage to get 100+ mpg? I'm going to try some "pottering" and "dawdling" around the country lanes sometime, with as little throttle as possible, which means it'll take something like over three hours to cover the 100 with this relaxed style of riding? And I'll see if I too can achieve this magic figure of 100+ mpg. That's if I don't manage to fall asleep with the boredom and come off in the process......

How many riders say their bikes do 100 mpg and how many have accurately measured the fuel consumption? Certainly when I did measure precisely how much gas was in my 500 iron barrel and count the miles it was far lower than that, nearer 60 mpg under normal town and country use. Maybe it is possible to cruise along on an open road at low speed (ignoring the following traffic jam a la caravan owner)and achieve such figures as 100 mpg but I have my doubts. Riding from home here in Devon up to Liverpool en route to the I of M last year we avoided all motorways and kept up a steady 50/55 mph on A roads and I was amazed that my old Triumph was matching my mates EFI at a reliable 80ish mpg. Remember the old slogan from the early 70's oil crisis - Be Thrifty, Max 50.
