According to hosts no porting required for Stage 1 Carb fit (32mm), although PAV needs to be junked. Apparently the Electra X head is ok, they also recommend the straight through header pipe hence my original query if the inner gubbins can be removed.

Thanks for all the comments, just have to shell out £200+ for carb and PAV blank now!!!!

You can't remove the inner tube, only the heat pipe in the end which has been explained
