Thanks Mark- Ive checked the V% and it appears its the original plate as section 3 does not state non transferable.
I would prefer to retain this registration with bike- I've had a quote of £1500 net to sell the plate!! but I will keep it with the bike as I assume it will increase the final value. I will contact the owners club and dvla for some more history.

Quotes from Number Plate Dealers tend to be very generous and don't reflect prices achieved in my opinion (look at the listings for an idea,). I think they just want you to sign up with them as they get commission but won't actually buy the plate off you. You could always sell the bike through Hitchcocks and pay them commission instead? Ask for Wayne, he looks after the bikes. REgards, Mark
