535 doesn't make nearly enough power to make a properly set up clutch slip

So now my interest is truly peaked. What have you done to this machine and what bhp is it turning out? What do you do next? Can you fit a belt drive primary and a dry clutch? I'd like to see a picture. S:)

I have read the list of parts that were replaced and forgive me if I've missed something but did you replace the clutch centre? There are examples of this being warped or machined wrongly resulting in the hub and the back plate not being square to one another. If this is the case nothing will correct it short of replacement.

Your right , if the center hub moves too far in on the spline it will slip , new center hub will fix this with a new nylock nut , the hub is primitive and must end up at it's fixed point or it will slip .

Yes Mark. Was changed when the 5-speed box was fitted.I am of the opinion that even though they are fresh plates, the riveted plates are too thin and do not grip the clutch centre properly.

Lone Rider, if the 5 speed plates are too thin, easy fix put in a set of 4 speed plates and just use 4 plates. These clutches are capable of good power Interceptor clutch is identical except for the cush drive and I guess in their day they could wheelstand in the hands of a youngun. Still a pretty crap clutch but you still should be able to stop it slipping

Already been there Norm! The nice man at Hitchcocks condemned my four plate clutch, after only one hundred miles. (Looked OK to me). To the best of my knowledge there is nothing that has not been done to try and cure this. I may have faulty parts, but without another new clutch assembly to try I will never know, and that is not going to happen. Around September time this clutch will be taken off and discarded. Discarded- a polite way of saying thrown out.
