Hi, sorry I'm only occasionally in the Barny area BUT could I suggest a great day out on Sunday 15th June (Father's Day) when the Beamish Reliability Run passes through your neck of the woods, actually calling at Bowes Museum. 150 or so of old motor bikes, cars, jeeps etc will arrive from the North East and then head on over Stang Forest to Arkengarthdale (Charles Bathurst Inn) over the tops to Low Row, Muker, Buttertubs Pass, Hawes and lunch time stop on the green at Bainbridge.
In the afternoon you could catch them up Swaledale, Keld, Tan Hill and then on to Brough and the Northern Pennines.
Could I really suggest the lunch time stop - lots of time to see all the vehicles, and then on to West Stonesdale, to see a good sharp climb.
I love it having competed a couple of times on my DOt but now confining myself to administration and marshalling.
All good wishes
Dottyman
