I'm in the middle of changing the oil on my EFI / UCE engine and notice in the owner's manual it refers to the engine sump filter.I don't have a workshop manual.Am I correct in thinking that this is situated on the underside of the sump and is accessed by two 8mm head bolts similar to the oil filter on the right hand side?Presumably it's a gauze filter that you just wash out in petrol?

Yes, It's like a small cotton reel, mesh with thick plastic rim top and bottom.



Rinse in petrol, and be a little careful as you assemble again, I can't quite remember what happened, but I came close to squishing it, think it needs to stay aligned in a groove whilst trying to get the cover in position.
