well all was going fine , just run in and starting to use the little power that there !!
well theres a metalic taping that sounds abit like a very loose tappet .
tonight i striped the top end removed the valves (hitchcock ,s larger valves ,springs and caps)
and alloy barrel and can't see anything wrong!
i am now thinking that it could be a cam problem, i am running Henry Price R cams which were new on this build .
i will investigate in the timing case tomorrow
thought anyone??

I assume that the cams you fitted are higher lift than standard. Did you check the valve springs when you re-assembled the engine? High-lift cams are likely to make standard valve springs coil-bound, and that can lead to all kinds of interesting problems and noises. DAMHIK!

Does this rattle go away when the engine is just off tick over as this could be the automatic de compressor as mine does this, I see you have made some mods to your engine so I can't comment about that!

it has samarat rockers, but i have now removed the timing chest the only thing i can find is theres play on the distributor shaft for and back about a 16/1+ so was wondering is this right or should it be solid??
