Hi all - the wire into the gearbox neutral sensor on the Woodsman separated itself from the sensor - so no neutral light and the bike only starts with clutch lever pulled in. The sensor is an inch behind the starter motor, which is just north of the cylinder barrel. In short I need a new sensor and the attached wiring as the original is dead. Anyone know where that part can be traced on the website or in our hosts catalogue?

That poor Woodsman. You sure you been nice to it?

Call me mad, but mine began to behave when I started talking nicely to it.

My other bullet only seems to accept me begrudgingly, as there is nobody else here to ride him, but there was some bonding yesterday and today, centred around several spares and repairs.

Tornado went like a dream this morning!

Good luck with the sensor, otherwise I think there is a dynojet power commander that makes oxygen sensor redundant.

Anybody remover their oxygen sensor, and want to help Sofiaspin out?

Are you sure the sensor is dead and it isn't just a break in the circuit? Check for voltage at the sensor wire (the good end!) with ignition switched on - if you have voltage then reconnect the wire. Are there one or two wires to the sensor - if two then check for voltage across the two wires - if one, then check for voltage with a ground on the starter motor negative terminal. If that doesn't show voltage then it might be a break in the circuit somewhere... if it does, then the sensor itself could well be faulty.

Couldn't find the sensor online... but give them a call. However, I reckon you'll find it is a salvageable thing :) In the meantime, try disconnecting the clutch switch which *should* mean you can start with the clutch out, giving you a kick start alternative. BUT... make sure you are in neutral...

Oh... and try a search on the website for 'neutral indicator' rather than sensor... this part number came up... might be the right one - 146351 - but call to check :)

Thanks guys - no it is 570255 neutral switch bullet connector - screw in top of crankcase. It is bust - wires stripped out of resin - reason? Because at build stage the wiring was too tight and vibes killed it off at the switch. New one is £6. Also discovered a worrying fuel leak at the fuel pump plate so have ordered new O ring. Just hope the vibes aren't the cause. Scaly, yes I am thrashing it but it will have had three oil changes by 2000 miles. Yesterday I whizzed past a Ducati sports bike LOL.

"whizzed past a Ducati sports bike"

WOW! You ever considered getting a helmet cam? Would love to have seen that!

Also, double check that it is the bullet connector version and not the bock connector version you need... Most of the connectors on the newer EFIs are block connectors everywhere except at the head and tail lights. You don't want to have to cut and chop if it isn't necessary. Regarding your fuel leak - are you sure it is from the pump, or is it the hose (or even the petrol tank cap leaking down)?
