in a few days I,m going the rip a spare ts185 engine down to rebuild it , new rod/big end and new mains etc

regarding the main bearings

the left one is oil fed from the oil pump is wet on the inside and has an oil seal on the outer , behind the genny
the right one is oil fed from the gearbox , and has an oil seal on the crankcase inner side

standard size bearings , (anyone know them?) , but c3 spec.

now my question , can I buy "2rs" rubber sealed bearings , flick the rubber seal off one side and leave the sealed side towards the oil seals , as a "brace and belt" approach?

I don't actually trust the right hand seal (internal) , as its a bugger to change

Shit! Just wrote a long reply and the ipad or site ate it. Yes use 2rs but no they won't replace the crank seals was the gist.
