I'm pretty sure that I've taken a sledgehammer to crack a nut, but the SPARX rotor is known for producing much more power at lower revs so I figured that would be a help when kick starting and also help to keep the bike ticking over with the lights on.

if you look at this posting on real classics http://members5.boardhost.com/classicbi ... 72384.html you will see a headlight delay system I have been developing , was,nt targeting bullet owners , but owners of "jap" type bikes , and people who rode with there lights on all day and forgot to turn off before restarting . I have a few units left if anyone with a bullet , with h/lamp fed from battery , is suffering from bad starting thru leaving the h/light on. my email addy is on that forum.

By way of an update, Ruth, I didn't get time to actually measure the outputs, but can tell you that the following spec works fine and supports an H4 headlamp bulb on tick over:

Lucas 120 Watt Stator

Pazon Rotor

Points, Coil, Condensor

35 Watt H4 Headlamp Bulb

LED Stop/Rear Bulb (a proper one from Classic Dynamo Regulator Conversions)

(Note that my bike does not have indicators, an electric horn, or any other electrical stuff).

Thanks Count Johnny.
I replaced the HT lead, got a iridium plug and better performing coil. Starts first kick everytime now. Very happy
