I just pulled the main shaft out of an Interceptor gearbox and it measures 11+1/4 inches in length, Super Meteor is the same and a Bullet one is 10+15/16th inches. Does anybody know the length of the mainshaft on the Meteors and 500 twins, is it the same as the later twins?.

Norm, yes I think it is. There is a further shaft length of 11 & 1/2" (or thereabouts) which is for the scissors clutch models but as this is solid it is easy to spot!

Thanks Mark, I thought the Meteor might be a bit shorter because the inner primary is very flat
