Hi all. A nice easy question. What cleaning products do you recommend for keeping the engine cases clean and tarnish free. I haven't had a bike with plain alloy in many years , so is there some wonder product you use.
Cheers Dave

Hi Davie:
I use Autosol aluminium polish on my Bullet. I think it`s made in Germany and is available in all auto accessories stores.

A liberal coating of oil and dirt from the road, chain, etc. Keeps the alloy lovely and shiny, you just can't see it. Call it patina, not dirt. Job done.

Second vote for autosol.

Initially, autosol and a hell of a lot of elbow grease until it shines like chrome,

All times after that, autosol and a little elbow grease!

Thanks guys. I thought in this day and age there would have been an alternative to solvol, but it appears not. Well I suppose I need to get polishing till the winter when I think I will do them black. Mind I like Ed.lazda's way of thinking, it made me laugh

Peek Polish or Solvol on polished metal only for me.
Unpolished metal such as crankcases are cleaned with degreaser when the rest of the engine & bike is deloused.

Duraglit is a very fine poish. You'spend a awful long time getting a shine on the average alloy casing with that.
