MAGURA FRONT BRAKE LEVER - INDIAN MADE 500 CC BULLET (1991) I recently and stupidly dropped my ENFIELD 500 cc BULLET breaking the MAGURA front brake lever. They are a discontinued line and I've been struggling to find a replacement. Can any one help? The part number is MAGURA - 141678

Short answer No.Unless you can find a bike being broken up for spares, they have been unavailable for some time. The good news is Hitchcocks sell a kit to change to another manufacturer. Not cheap but an option for you, check it out in the catalogue.

Propably a lesson for all of us with this post? Suspect we have all had a bike fall over & damage something whilst being manoeuvred. I for one will get a spare brake & clutch lever straight away for the next bike i buy before riding it away from the dealers.Let us know how you get on. Is it beyond welding?

There's no point trying to keep it Magura unless originallity is particularly important. Get the Minda conversion and be done with it. Its a better lever anyway.

Midge how do you do a Minda conversion? it requires a lot of wiring alterations from what I know

A 1991 bullet will have all bullet connectors so its just a matter of unplugging the old cables & replugging the new. There is only the brake light switch (2 wires)on the r/h handlebar anyway.Google Magura to Minda conversion.Maybe Hitchcocks would be prepared to accept Johnny's undamaged Magura clutch side controls to sell to someone that has broken their Magura l/h controls?

Loco, inside the headlight in most of those early bikes is usually a total rats nest of bodged up wires that make me shudder every time I pull a headlight out, something to avoid if at all possible
