I wonder .. if it would be possible to make the bracket that has to be welded or riveted into a 'clip-on' version by mirroring the actual fixing bracket? Just an idea.. I'm sure you'll get the idea from the drawing here:

Yes, I had thought of that idea but as a one piece, bent round the tube. I think with it being two pieces, however tight you do it up, if any weight was on it it would tend to slip round the tube it was fixed to. A one piece would I think work ok. Thanks for your input.
