So I guess it is just mine with a left hand chain guard!

What the hell did they do, make my bike from pieces left over? This is remembering the jb weld putty on the engine!

RIght, I will 'instruct' my dealer to get a right hand side black one then (under warranty) , like on that red woodsman in the pic. Thanks guys!

Simon,
I have seen that before on some early UCE's they obviously had a pile of left side chain guards left over and they just bodged them up and fitted them on the right hand side. Pretty crap on a new bike

I would love to see some pictures of your woodsman, so will send you an email, Thanks!

"As much use as an ejector seat in a helicopter" !

Does this have anything to do with the saying, "For the chop" ?

Simon missed your last post but have sent you a couple of pics of my chain guard, and you are right, yours is wrong.
BTW what size, in teeth, is the front sprocket on a Wooders ? I am not sure if it is a tooth larger than Electra standard.

I got the pics, thanks!

To be honest, I do not know about the sprocket, but I suspect it may be larger than standard, due to the fact that Thunderbolt had no problem hitting over 75 MPH when I tested it out a couple of times.

Reply from Watsonian
That is the correct chain guard - they have been like that since 2009!

Best regards

Scaly, why not contact our Hosts? They bought all the Watsonian spares and I'm sure a low demand item like a chainguard wouldn't be expensive... I hope!

well, I don't know what Watsonian are saying, having now seen a few EFI bike with correct looking guard,
but the best has to be the picture that GWILLI posted above. A red Woodsman with correct looking right hand guard.

Thunderbolt is still under warranty, so my UK dealer is looking into it, otherwise, a call to our hosts will be in order.

As for the Woodsmans that have chromed chain guards, why have the chromed side facing the wheel?

Watsonian say the current guard is correct, but then they had no idea how a brand new woodsman came to have a load of J B weld stuff underneath an engine that had been clearly taken apart and put back together again!

If I do get a right side one and it fits, I will post a pic, but that won't be for about 12 weeks I guess.
