Hi again everyone
I was wondering if anyone has an idea for a replacement 6v battery for a '49 model G , i live in the States and very few people here have much knowledge about 6v battery's , even if its a modern battery , that is fine .

Motorcycle batteries. Don't know if it helps you as I don't know where you are in the States.. but at least they are to be found.

I've put a little 6V battery in a wooden box made to look like an old pitch battery case. The battery is one that suits a CG110 or similar 6 ampere/hours and far smaller than the dreadful old ones to which I sacrificed many an item of clothing. You can see it in this short vid.

Hopefully, there will be something suitable there, or you could try...



Find your lead acid battery.



You just enter 6 v length, width, height, and it finds a battery for you.

South Africa?.. That's strange.. I googled after Walmart..!! Oh well.. that'll teach me to try my hand at being helpful. Mind you, if there's anyone on here in South Africa looking for a 6V battery, I've answered your question..!!

Oh I got the wrong end of the stick. Yuasa make 6v batteries in the States so go to their web site and check out a local supplier.

Saboy, Not sure if you live in an urban area
States side, but an alternateive battery easily
found at electronic geek stores are the easily
found 6V sealed black burgular alarm batteries.
Literally ten times more are sold surely every
day than than the rarer 'bike 6v ones and come
in similiar sizes around $20 to $30. As the
other lads said, the original Brit battery were
larger so if you're fussy, pop the modern 6v
one into a self made box to suit the Enfield
battry clamp. Only thing your change are the
battery lead terminal ends for the clip ones
