Hello DEVON JOHN--------- It might have been easier for you to have bought a used front wheel with disc etc from our hosts "Used Parts and Bikes" section in the Left Hand column of this page ?? (There's currently 4 on offer suitable for your bike)...............However, you're going to need a wheel re-build ( ie to put your existing rim onto the new hub--some £40 + I would say)----- then follow the instructions given.... Your original axle , bearings etc should swap straight in as far as I can remember...BUT, on the L/H fork leg you will find a cast-in lug of approx 1" x 4" which used to form the torque reaction stop for the Drum Brake's backplate.....This has to be removed so that the disc can clear........It can be done in situ with a black, felt tip pen to mark-off and a normal hacksaw ( 18 tpi for Aluminium)...then dressed with a file.....Here's mine I did a while ago >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Image

Hi John,
I did one last week, went straight together but I fitted new bearings, bearings are cheap

Sorry John, I should have added I had to turn about a mm off the spacers to get the distance to the inner pad correct
