If you brought all the parts from Hitchcocks and they were supplied as a kit I would get onto them Monday for more advice it looks like there is some sort of problem there I'm sure they will be interested to know.

Oh dear, a word with hitchcocks would be advisable.. i suppose the panels would be a pair, i.e. left hand and right hand or maybe not..

Failing all else you could fix the screws to the panel for decorative purposes and then bond the panel with adhesive to the tank in the best looking position...

Hitchcock answered me today. I love their service!
I should send them back the tank and panels so they adjust or change what needs to be changed

Jonesy, they wrote me that both threads should be 5/16" cycle thread (26tpi)

I can continue the wiring harness and other big modification, waiting for the tank adaptation now...
