Hi all, has anyone fitted the leather pannier bags (92500) and if so how well do they fit having no pannier frames for the classic bullet? Thanks for your help.

Hi Bobw, have put one of these on my Classic EFI. Although they do fit on after a bit of a struggle,the leather straps are quite stiff and could be a bit longer(no comments please gentlemen) I did use a dog collar to make it more secure as they looked like they were going to slide off. Not a great fit but I find them very handy. Need a bit of protection around the metal work as paint has rubbed off. Can send you pic if you want. Cath

Thanks for the reply Cath, they sound much as I thought. I like the look of them but was concerned about how secure they would be. No good if they flop about and damage the paint but I think I'll give them a go.

They are certainly robust. Have just removed mine to give them a clean and they look as good as new . Have been on since last TT and I ride all winter. But you Will need to put extra strap on the top otherwise they don't sit sraight as they would on frame. Beats carrying everything in a backpack.regards cath .

I have fitted these to my 350. The fit is acceptable and the leather is pretty robust. However have not been very impressed with the quality of the rivets on the straps. I would ad that my bike has a hard life and gets ridden every day to maybe road salt has killed them off. Still the rivets are cheap to get redone so I would say go for it.

Bobw, I have these saddle bags on my 2002 500, they did not fit very well as there is no fixing bracket to strap them to and yes they can and will rub through your paintwork.
I have made a rack to hold them on and this bolts directly to the bike without any modifications, this allows the bags to sit vertical on the bike and not lean inwards. I will be making more of these.

I bought a length of thick rubber tubing from the hardware store; slit along its length and fitted a piece on each rail where the bags would rub. Secured with two cable ties on each one.
