Hi guys, have any of you had your carbs cleaned using this ultrasonic method, its all new to me, but I see it advertised locally. As I say its all new to me and would like your opinions, PS its for a gummed up Electra Carb. Thanks. Wolf.

It does work but a bit of elbow grease is just as good. I find pipe cleaners and brake cleaner does a good job.

Hi Wolf, A mate of mine re-commissioned his Guzzi LeMans last year after it had been stood for nearly ten years. He had the carbs cleaned ultrasonically and they came back like new. Could well be worth the effort!

Hi WOLF------ Agree with DURHAM TIM ( I bought my own one last year...worth every penny) BUT, as PETE F also notes}---you do need to apply some effort yourself...Make sure that whoever is doing it proves ALL the idle circuit drilling's by back-flowing some of the cleaning fluid AND uses compressed air to back-clear all passages....especially those either side of the throttle slide....and don't poke things into the jets !!!

If I remember correctly "A bristle from mother's broom" was the recommended jet cleaning method from the MZ owners manual some 35 years ago! Presumably care must be taken that it doesn't snap off inside. Sadly my mother's brooms have long since gone.
