Hi Winkie - I know a lot of the guys on here like the snail cam adjusters but I don't. In my experience the main problem is holding the wheel against the 'pull' of the chain whilst trying to get the wheel accurately adjusted. OK if there is someone else to hold the wheel but a bugger if you're on your own. I much prefer our hosts adjusters - which I find much easier to use. Once you have accurately set the rear wheel alignment (by whichever method you prefer) it can be maintained by simply counting the flats equally on each side. They definitely get my vote. Cheers. The Mitas tyres sown on Alans picture are very good. I had a pair on a Velo and they were good in the dry and the wet. A pal of mine has them on his R80 BMW. Good tyres at a sensible price. My Model G has Avon Speedmasters because they were fitted when I bought the bike, they be replaced by Mitas when the wear out.
Having said all that, I was out on the G yesterday and no tyre would have won over the ice. Kept the shiny side up though.
