I went to Wych Cross (sussex) garden centre, and walked straight into some old motorcycles with an amazing story.

Here is the RE that first caused me to ‘double take’

Then I look around and see a Matchless. The story is that the owner of the garden centre went to Burma and whilst there, was shown a barn with twenty old british motorcycles in it. He bought them and imported them back to the UK. He has sold many of them, but there are still 8 left.

But NOT the WD CO though… This is his own bike that he rode to work for 22 years, and I have an idea that he will not part with it, but then again…

It does have a bit of a “flat tyre” though!

I do not know the owner’s name or what other bikes he has, as they are stored in a container, but for those who may be interested…

Interesting thread. I wonder where in the world old bikes are still left gathering dust, maybe some of the east european countries? I'm sure there are no more genuine 'barn finds' left in the UK since Ebay made selling easy. I'm sure many here will remember having to find a bike in the small ads of the local paper or through a friend selling it. With hindsight I wonder how we ever managed to find anything.
