hi pomps harley davidson say in the sportster manual that sidecars shouldnt be fitted but i do know the frame is not made of swiss cheese lol alan walace and grommit look great i,m looking for a border terrier for my side car if anyone knows where theres 1 for sale near yorkshire let me know atb paul

It is not such a matter that the Enfield frame is made of Swiss cheese it is adequate for the job it is designed to do, but hanging a big weight off one side and expect the motor to carry a large part of the strain is not good practice in my opinion.

well spotted norm i said enfield frames were made of swiss cheese wholey untrue the hacks of yesteryear always had bent frames after hauling those henhouses on wheels the double adult of the 40,s and 50,s,the watsonian chair of today is a very light affair but unruly lifting of the chair has caused many problems to said nonswiss cheese enfield frame as i said earlier a bike with a frame more substantial should be used for fitting a chair just forinstance large BMW ,HONDA GOLDWING ETCETC ATB MORE CHEESE GROMIT !
