Hi all, Bertie's front brake has been sticking so I have removed it, stripped it down and cleaned it, is it ok to dab a small amount of copper slick on the moving parts to reduce wear and stop it sticking in the future, I.e where the shoes pivot on the post ? Cheers ...

You're supposed to use proper brake grease but I always give them a smear (not too much) of ordinary grease.

Just as a follow up, found the reason for the sticking brake, the adjuster rod was bent at the top threads, not sure how this could happen as there is no push action on the rod, only a pull action when the brake is applied, anyone else seen this before ?
