Hey Oudaios - I think that it will be more a case of you not finding the drain plug rather than it not having one! In a nutshell there are THREE 'drain plugs' under there each there for a different reason. My guess is that all you have done previously in drain the crankcase rather than the oil tank. As has been suggested by MIDGE, look on here under 'Technical Notes' at the side of this page and you will see a great diagram showing you exactly what I'm talking about. You'll need to remove the rear-most drain plug to drain the oil tank and the front-most one to drain the crankcase. When you refill the bike remember to leave some oil aside while you run the engine and allow the oil to circulate - then top up again. Hope this helps! Riggers.

There is one small hurdle which has been known to fell a "rookie" and that is the simple task of replacing the drain plugs..

Using the original fibre type washers you find you have a slight leak.. No problem just tighten a bit more with a longer handle and DOH!

Stripped thread.. They are alloy and very soft and short, so to nip this particular gremlin where it hurts can i suggest you replace using the dowty seals available from our host at 50 pence each, (page 10 online catalogue) which seal really well without any undue tightening..

Might also be worth checking the crankcase breather arrangement for blockage in tube or duckbill, before firing the motor.

Your right, 94 only has two drains, these will drain the tank and sump.. to drain the timing case 3/4 litre you must remove the quill bolt and filter cap…
Refill through the tappet cover until oil can be seen returning to the oil tank.. Use a torch to see in the tank.. then fill in the normal way...

I rebuilt a motor recently and it had 4 plugs, from memory it was a 2000 model, makes it all very confusing, not sure what they were all for, didn't bother investigating

Peter, that bike is being shipped to Nepal next week so I won't get a chance to check it before it leaves and if it makes it back to Aus it will be some time before I get to look at it again. I should have paid a bit more attention to it at the time, but from what I can remember it must have had from the front, the scavenge strainer, then a sump plug, then the feed strainer, then the oil tank plug. The sump plug was factory, not something somebody had tapped in later

Thanks Gwilly - knew I wasn't going crazy. Had a good look and my 94 definitely does not have an oil tank drain bolt. I know where is should be be but this was a later development for bullets. A fourth drain bolt under the crank case was also added later. A good video on Youtube by Hoohoohoblin demonstrating a partial oil change shows these, though he does not make reference to the fourth bolt: http://youtu.be/Dkx44NUCVSA

I think I recall seeing one like this some years back and you have to drain it through the feed pump pick up screen plug which drains slowly because the hole from the tank is 3/16th diameter max and this tends to leave a fair bit of sludge in the bottom of the tank. I would be inclined when you split the cases next time to drill and tap it for an oil tank drain plug.
