I've found that the aerosol version produces a very poor spray, and the pump-up bottle is a bit better. The best method of application is by spraygun, as in my previous reply.

In my experience, today's incarnation of WD40 is not a patch on the stuff I used in the 70's. I would remove it first before applying ACF50. ACF50 will 'stick' to the metal far better than WD40.

I have a 1,300kg trailer with galvanised steel subframe. After one unprotected winter the galvanised finish was very crusty. Sprayed all over with ACF 50, no further deterioration. Wish I had applied it from day one. Agree the aerosol version is not the best. Cheers Trevorch

Good to hear! I have "envied" you because ACF50 has not been available here in Norway, but finally I have found a supplier and got a 4 litre can last week. I have so far used it on my oldest winter bicycle. Applied it with a small rag, and it shure seems that a little goes a long way (which is good, considering the price), and it penetrates small "corners" well. All my motorcycles are already taken care of for this winter, but will be covered with ACF50 next time. Also the metal parts of my car trailer, that has to spend all it's time outside. I can't see the picture I've just posted, I'm using an iPad, anyway acf50 is on my mind as I've just spent the last couple of hours applying it with a paint brush all over the Honda, Bertie will get his new coat on the weekend hopefully...
