An alternative Jenks if you want to periodically run the motors is to fill the tanks to the brim & run the motors till the float bowls empty

Jenks, running engine periodically is bad practice unless you get the engine and oil up to normal working temperature. Tricky to do with the bike stationary without getting involved with fans etc.

Also running the engine occasionally won't make the fuel any newer. It will use up a tiny bit, but you will still have your original problem and also the new problem of moisture in the oil and engine.
