with winter upon us and the bikes rested,has anyone got the answer to the ethanol problem?

Drain tanks & carb float bowls

Easy !!----------- keep riding them !!....... I'm out on the WD B40 almost every day...The other bikes in the fleet have their float bowels emptied, fuel tanks are drained and it all goes in the B40... ...I've just this morning delivered the local Christmas cards, posted some E-Bay items and dropped a prescription off at the Doctors Surgery....Then a gentle bimble around the local countryside and home in time for lunch !!------- NICE......At least drain the float chamber and leave the drain plug off ( allows for air to circulate and evaporate any fuel and avoids "gumming" of the primary fuel drillings).....If you have a decent jerry can with spout then drain the bike's fuel tank as well and give it to the car !!------- You can always buy fresh at the start of next season............ PS}------ I bet GRUNDA will advise you to buy a Diesel ??????

Yes. Leave it until you get back from your ride to start drinking.

Naw! just keep riding them OR put some reputable 97-97 stuff in it, after all it is coming up to Christmas!

Jenks, what is the ethanol problem? If petrol goes off, either drain all the system, use non-ethanol fuel or the best solution, as has been suggested already, is to use the bike. I'm not sure where you are located but there are many bright dry winter days in Britain which are great for a ride out.

Err, what problem. I have several engines which stand over winter but I never had a problem. I do drain carbs though.

Thanks for the winter suggestions everyone, presumably no one agrees with running the bikes up occasionally without going on a run?
